Katalyst and Kohler the Duet in new showering technology

A luxurious drenching shower, with large, heavy rain drops – just like a real summer rain shower – has been developed by Kohler. The really good news is that it uses LESS water than many conventional water saving showers.

The new Katalyst technology, developed by Kohler, a global leader in bathroom technology, injects two litres of air into the waterflow every minute. This creates large, heavy water droplets – guided by gravity rather than water pressure – that perfectly emulate the invigorating, intense drenching experienced in a natural rain shower. This powerful, voluptuous water spray clings to the body giving a truly indulgent experience. And yet the entire process uses only eight litres of water a minute!

The Katalyst technology is incorporated in Kohler’s new RainCan showerhead that is available in two designs and two sizes – a 200mm and 250mm round and a 200mm and 250mm square model.

Constructed from solid brass with polished chrome finish, the MasterClean spray face of the RainCan features translucent nozzles that resist mineral build-up and are easy to clean, while the configuration of the spray face optimises the water pattern and droplet size for superior coverage and rinsing performance.

Another stand out feature of the Katalyst technology is the concealed Venturi valve that reduces noise levels to ensure a seriously relaxing showering experience.

And in a case of good design made even better, Kohler has combined the RainCan showerhead with a large EO hand shower in a single installation called Rain Duet shower column.

The combination of the two shower options ensures a complete and versatile showering experience – each showerhead can be used separately or simultaneously. Young families in particular love the versatility of a hand shower.

The RainCan showerhead can be mounted with a ceiling arm or a 90 degree wall arm while the EO hand shower sports a polished chrome non-metallic hose and a built-in diverter with integral water feed for clean installation.
