Kohler Wins Environmental Award – For the Third Time!
America’s Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Kohler the 2012 WaterSense Manufacturer Partner of the Year award for its outstanding efforts in consumer education in water conservation.
In making the award the EPA cited Kohler’s role in the bold and humorous ‘Wasting Water is Weird’ public service announcement campaign; the introduction of the company’s most advanced toilet – Numi; and the doubling of its water-efficient showerheads as exceptional efforts in helping protect the future of the nation’s water supply.
Kohler was the first recipient of the EPA’s WaterSense Manufacturer Partner of the Year award in 2008 and then went on to win it again in 2009 and was also lauded with EPA Excellence Awards in 2010 and 2011.
Many of the Kohler products recognised for their water efficiency by the EPA in the US – including showerheads, mixer taps and toilets – are available in Australia and New Zealand and carry some of the highest WELS water efficiency ratings. Some popular examples are the Margaux and Singulier basin mixers (5 star WELS), the Purist showerhead (3 star WELS) and the Escale Back-to-Wall Toilet (4 star WELS).
